Do not take if you are allergic to any ingredient in the formula (pumpkin seed, saw palmetto, gelatine or carob). Do not take during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you are trying to conceive. Not recommended for anyone under 18.

Do not take if you are on anticoagulants or antiplatelet medication (such as warfarin, acenocoumarol, clopidogrel or daily aspirin) or if you have a bleeding disorder. Stop taking Palmetra at least 2 weeks before any planned surgery or dental treatment.

Do not use alongside hormonal contraceptives, hormone therapy or lithium without medical supervision. Do not use with finasteride, dutasteride or other prostate medication, or if you have prostate cancer or another hormone-dependent cancer, without medical supervision. If you take tamsulosin, dutasteride or other prostate medication, or are being treated for diabetes or high blood pressure, see your doctor before taking Palmetra.

Do not use if you have liver disease or a history of pancreatitis without medical supervision. If you notice blood in your urine, a fever, pain or difficulty passing urine, stop taking Palmetra and see a doctor.
